
Savvas Christodoulou (flute)

Savvas Christodoulou was born in Limassol and began flute lessons at a young age. In 2005, he became a student at the Prague State Conservatory, from which he graduated in 2010. The same year, he was accepted into the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) to continue his studies in the class of world-renowned soloist Aldo Baerten. Concurrently, he studied Baroque interpretation with the leading figure in the genre, Wilbert Hazelzet. In June 2012, he received his Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and Education with unanimous distinction. In November 2015, he earned his Master of Music diploma in Stage Performance with rave reviews.
From 1999 to 2004, he was a member of the Cyprus State Youth Orchestra, and in 2001 he was selected as principal flutist. He has been a member of the symphony orchestras of the Prague Conservatory and the Utrecht School of the Arts, respectively. He performs in solo recitals and chamber music concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Cyprus. Since June 2015, he has been an extra member of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and teaches flute at the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra Academy and the Paphos Music School.
